Pitt Drops Out of Both National Polls, Still Receiving Votes

Pitt has dropped out of both major national polls after Saturday’s 30-29 loss to NC State.

The Panthers had been ranked No. 24 in the AP Top 25 and No. 25 in the USA Today Coaches Poll.

Pitt received seven vote points in the AP poll, 19th amongst others receiving votes. The Panthers earned 32 vote points in the coaches poll, finishing 14th amongst others receiving votes.

Clemson remains the No. 1 team in the country. The ACC has four other teams in the AP Top 25: Notre Dame at No. 5, Miami at No. 7, North Carolina at No. 8 and Virginia Tech at No. 19. NC State and Virginia also received votes. The coaches have UNC at No. 9 and the Hokies at No. 18
