Update (10:16 PM)-  

**Tonight, Nittany Sports Now’s Cory Giger catches up with Laurel Highlands 2-sport star sophomore Rodney Gallagher, who recently picked up an offer from Penn State basketball. Gallagher now has offers from both Penn State basketball and football as well as offers from Pitt football and basketball.

 

Update (8:56 PM)- 

**Gateway 2022 DB/WR Patrick Body Jr. receives an offer tonight from Cincinnati, which is currently ranked #8 in the country. Body also holds offers from Pitt, Akron, Ball State, Buffalo, Central Michigan, Temple and Toledo.


Update (5:42 05)- 

**Pitt has lost out on a second Class of 2021 commit today, as Nebraska native James Carnie has committed to the in-state Cornhuskers. Carnie’s announcement follows that of fellow Class of 2021 Pitt target River Helms, who committed to Georgia Tech.

The Panthers do have two tight end commits in the class in Utah’s Trey Andersen and New Jersey native Jake Renda.

Update (4:42 PM)- 

**Former Pitt defensive end Jabal Sheard is back in the NFL after signing on with the Jacksonville Jaguars practice squad. Sheard choose not to sign on with anyone this off-season and was waiting for the right opportunity. The former 2nd round pick has played with Indianapolis, Cleveland and New England. In 2019, Sheard registered 25 tackles and 4.5 sacks in 13 games with Indianapolis.

Update (4:00 PM)- 

**Friday nights football game between Hempfield and Central Catholic has been canceled because of COVID-19 concerns. All Hempfield athletic and extracurricular activities have been canceled for the rest of the week after 3 students tested positive for coronavirus.

Update (3:52 PM)- 

**Two WPIAL football games for this weekend have been canceled because of COVID-19 concerns. On Sunday, it was announced that Fridays game between Serra and Apollo-Ridge wouldn’t be played. Today, Derry canceled its Week 6 game against East Allegheny.

Update (3:30 PM)- 

**Following another weekend of college football, Pro Football Network’s Matt Valdovinos released another one of his 3-Round Mock Draft.

In this draft, Valdovinos has 3 Pitt Panthers getting drafted in the first 3 rounds. Defensive end Patrick Jones continues to be the highest Panther selected.

1st Round, San Francisco (18th pick) DE Patrick Jones.

2nd Round, Jacksonville (40th pick) DT Jaylen Twyman.

3rd Round, Washington (70th pick) S Paris Ford.

Update (2:15 PM)-
**Pitt has been pursuing 2021 3-star tight end River Helms for the last few months with the hopes of getting a commitment from him. Helms has decided to play in the ACC but it won’t be a Pitt. This afternoon, Helms gave a verbal commitment to play for Georgia Tech. Helms (Lester, Alabama) also held offers from Florida State, Georgia, Louisville, Memphis, Missouri and Oklahoma State. Pitt is trying to add one more tight end to this year’s recruiting class.

Update (11:11 AM)- 

**It looks like Phil Jurkovec made a good decision  in transferring from Notre Dame to Boston College. Over the weekend, Jurkovec led BC to an overtime win over Pitt. His 358 yards were a career-high and is on a historic pass at BC.

**The Duquesne football program gets a commitment from 2021 LB/RB Jaheim Williams from Erie Prep.

Why would any decent Tight end sign with Pitt when they never throw the ball to them or they have to stay in and block because the O-line is GARBAGE.
