Die-Hards: Recapping Pitt’s Early 2022 Quarterback Targets

Published

on

Quarterbacks are no doubt the most talked about position on a football team because if you don’t have a solid quarterback, chances are you won’t have a winning team.

Senior Kenny Pickett is leading Pitt’s offense this season and has the opportunity to return in 2021 if he would choose to do so, but no word yet on what he plans on doing next season.

The Panthers depth chart looks to be solid with players like former four-star players Joey Yellen and Davis Beville, plus Nick Patti and incoming 2021 commit Nate Yarnell.

Because of the year to year movement with transfers plus injuries and plain ineffectiveness, a program can never have too many quality quarterbacks. With the addition next year of Yarnell, Pitt has already started the process of finding their quarterback for their Class of 2022.

A new name entered the picture on Thursday, as Pitt extended an offer to Florida quarterback Davin Wydner, who appears to be a very intriguing prospect.

Wydner isn’t the first junior quarterback with an offer from Pitt, so here’s a recap of the other players that Mark Whipple and Pat Narduzzi have on their quarterback recruiting board.
