Pitt-Florida State Opens as a Pick ‘Em Game

The Pitt-Florida State game for this Saturday has opened as a pick ’em game, according to odds released on Monday by BetOnline.ag.

Pitt is in the middle of a four game losing streak, their first since 2007, and have watched their record drop to 3-4. After opening the season with three straight wins, the Panthers lost consecutive one-point games to NC State and Boston College, followed by a close game at Miami and then a 45-3 steamrolling by No. 4 Notre Dame.

The Panthers are 0-5 against the spread after failing to cover the 10.5-point line against Notre Dame. Pitt lost outright as favorites over both the Eagles and Wolfpack. The Panthers’ three-point win against Louisville resulted in a push. Pitt did not cover 20.5 points against Syracuse and the opener against Austin Peay was taken off betting boards because the second half was played with just 10-minute quarters.

Florida State is 2-4 with wins over Jacksonville State and North Carolina while losing to Georgia Tech (16-13), Miami (52-10), Notre Dame (42-26) and Louisville (48-16).

Saturday’s game will be played at Bobby Bowden Field at Doak Campbell Stadium with a 4 p.m. kickoff on the ACC Network.

Pitt and Notre Dame have played nine times overall, with the Seminoles holding a 5-4 advantage. The last time these two teams met was in 2013 with Florida State winning 41-13. That game was the college debut of Seminoles freshman quarterback Jameis Winston.
