Robert Morris Basketball Changes Non-Conference Schedule

An outbreak of COVID-19 has forced Robert Morris men’s basketball to make major changes to their 2020 non-conference schedule.

As PSN reported earlier this morning, the Colonials basketball program has been temporarily shutdown due to an outbreak of COVID-19 within the team and that’s now resulted in the postponement of their 2020 season opener on November 25 against Point Park.

The athletic department has also announced that the Colonials games against Central Michigan (November 28) and Florida Gulf Coast (Dec 2) has been canceled and now will be added to their 2021-22 conference schedule. The school is working to decide if any non-conference games can be added considering how close it is to the start of the season.

“The health and safety of our student-athletes, coaches and staff is at the forefront of everything we do as a program,” said RMU Head Coach Andy Toole. “As we’ve witnessed throughout the country, COVID-19 cases are on the rise. Despite our pause in team activities, we’ll get through this stronger as a team and will return when it is safe for everyone involved.”

RMU season ticket packages purchased for the 2020-21 season will be prorated to reflect the scheduling adjustments.
