The Central Valley Warriors are 2020 Pennsylvania state champions. Central Valley prevailed in the PIAA Class-3A title game at Hershypark Stadium on Friday, defeating Wyomissing 35-21.

The Warriors fell into a 14-7 first-half hole but roared back to score three straight touchdowns to start the second half based on the strong rushing duo of Landon Alexander and Amarian Saunders.

Alexander scored from 18 yards out after a long kickoff return on the opening kick of the second half set Central Valley up with good field position. Saunders then scored twice on a pair of 2-yard scores to put the Warriors up by two touchdowns.

Alexander scored again to ice the game after a Wyomissing kickoff return for a touchdown had drawn them back into striking distance.

The Warriors finished the 2020 season with a 12-0 record and WPIAL and PIAA titles. The state title was the first for Central Valley, which finished as PIAA runners up in 2014 and 2019.
