Pitt Moves Up 5 Spots in 247 Sports Rankings Following Commitment of Kyle Fugedi

The commitment of three-star offensive tackle Kyle Fugedi has resulted in Pitt making a nice move up the 247 Sports football class rankings.

With the addition of the big tackle from Michigan, the Panthers now find themselves ranked No. 26 in team recruiting by 247 Sports, a jump of five spots from No. 31. Like with Rivals.com, Pitt is on pace to have their best recruiting ranking during the Pat Narduzzi Era.

PITT’S 247 SPORTS RECRUITING RANKINGS UNDER NARDUZZI:
This Year: 26th (currently)
2020: 45th
2019: 55th
2018: 48th
2017: 37th
2016: 37th

Here’s a couple of things to keep in mind when looking at Pitt’s current ranking with 247 Sports. They currently have 200.45 points, but that doesn’t take into consideration the commitment of three-star TE Trey Andersen, who 247 Sports does not have listed with the class after he reclassified. If Andersen is re-evaluated with his reclassification, he could help Pitt’s class.

Pitt doesn’t need a whole lot more points to move up even farther in the rankings.

CURRENT 247 SPORTS FOOTBALL TEAM RANKINGS
20) California 207.96 points
21) Iowa 202.74
22) Penn State 202.06
23) Minnesota 200.76
24) Mississippi State 200.66
25) Washington 200.56
26) Pitt 200.45

Looking back through 247 Sports previous rankings, the highest Pitt ever reached was with their Class of 2006 and 2007. In 2007, they were 21st and in 2006, they got their highest ranking ever at 16th. Some of the players that Dave Wannstedt brought in were Dorin Dickerson, Nate Byham, Elijah Fields, Jeff Otah, Aaron Berry, Jason Pinkston, John Malecki, Nate Nix, Ricky Gary, Jovani Chappel and Aaron Smith.
