Robert Morris has had its fourth consecutive men’s basketball game to start the 2020-21 season canceled, as Saturday’s game at St. Francis has been called off, the team announced on Tuesday.
The Colonials had previously canceled games against Point Park, Central Michigan and Florida Gulf Coast as the team dealt with positive COVID-19 results and a team-wide shutdown.
Robert Morris head coach Andy Toole told Pittsburgh Sports Now on Tuesday that he hope to have his team back practicing on Wednesday.
Saturday’s game was scheduled to be played at St. Francis with a 5 p.m. tip. It has been canceled, not postponed, suggesting that it will not be rescheduled.
That will leave the Colonials with just one non-conference game on the docket. They are currently slated to visit West Virginia on Wednesday, Dec. 9. That game has a 7 p.m. tipoff.
RMU’s Horizon League schedule is slated to begin on Saturday, Dec. 19 with a home date against Cleveland State. RMU will not host fans at games, at least through the month of December.
A decision regarding whether or not the team will attempt to schedule any additional non-conference games “will be made in the near future,” according to a team press release.
