Duquesne’s game scheduled for Friday morning against Winthrop has been canceled due to positive COVID-19 tests, Pittsburgh Sports Now has learned.

The Dukes had been scheduled to play Winthrop with an 11 a.m. tipoff. A team source told PSN that the team received news of positive tests within the staff, but not the team, but elected to cancel the game out of an abundance of caution.

Duquesne will return to Pittsburgh with a 1-1 record, having played two games in Louisville at the KFC Yum! Center, a win over UNC Greensboro and a loss to Little Rock.

Keith Dambrot’s squad does not currently have another non-conference game scheduled, with Atlantic-10 play at Richmond on Dec. 19. The Dukes will be playing their January home games at La Roche while construction continues on the UPMC Chuck Cooper Fieldhouse.
