Pitt Opens As Touchdown Favorite Over Georgia Tech

Published

on

Coming off a bye week following their loss to Clemson, Pitt is the early favorite heading into the Panthers’ regular-season finale at Georgia Tech on Thursday.

The oddsmakers at BetOnline.ag have the Panthers as 6.5-point favorites for their Thursday night contest over the Yellow Jackets. This game was originally supposed to be played on Nov. 14 but moved because of COVID-19 issues at Pitt.

Georgia Tech enters this game with a record of 3-6, having lost their most recent game on Saturday to NC State, 23-13. The Yellow Jackets’s three wins this season have come against Florida State (16-13), Louisville (46-27) and Duke (56-33), with their losses against Central Florida (49-21), Syracuse (37-20), Clemson (73-7), Boston College (48-27) and Notre Dame (31-13).

This will be the 15th all-time meeting between these two programs, with Georgia Tech holding a 9-5 series lead. However, Pitt has won four of the last five games including last year by a score of 20-10.

While this game isn’t for a conference championship, this game has meaning for Pat Narduzzi’s team as they look to finish the season with a winning record of 6-5. With four ACC tie-in bowl games having been canceled, Pitt would very well be playing for an opportunity to receive a bowl invitation.

Thursday’s kickoff from Bobby Dodd Stadium in Atlanta will take place at 7 p.m.
