Duquesne to Face Southern Illinois, Loyola-Chicago in Netural Site Games

Duquesne will get back on the court after its COVID-19-related shutdown for at least two more non-conference game before beginning Atlantic-10 play, Pittsburgh Sports Now has learned.

Duquesne will face Southern Illinois and Loyola-Chicago in a pair of neutral-court games in Indianapolis. They’re scheduled to meet SIU on Monday, Dec. 14 and Loyola on Wednesday, Dec. 16. PSN first reported the Dukes’ interest in scheduling those games.

The Salukis are 2-0 with wins at Southeast Missouri in overtime and over Division II Quincy. KenPom.com rates them as the No. 191 team in the country. SIU finished last season with a 16-16 record and in fifth place in the Missouri Valley Conference.

The Ramblers are 1-0 with a win over Division II Lewis University. KenPom.com currently has them as the No. 54 team in the country. Porter Moser’s squad finished the 2019-20 season with a 21-11 record and in second place in the MVC.

The Dukes (1-1) had their third non-conference game of the season wiped out on Friday when they were expected to play Winthrop in the Wade Houston Tipoff Classic in Louisville, Kentucky, but that was canceled due to a pair of positive COVID-19 tests on the Duquesne staff. They lost to Little Rock and defeated UNC Greensboro in their first two games.

Duquesne will begin A-10 play on Saturday, Dec. 16, when they’ll visit No. 19 Richmond.
