The Pitt football program received a nice Christmas Day present as they landed a talented recruit from Florida.
Four-star Class of 2021 defensive back Phillip O’Brien announced on Twitter that he’s committing to Pitt, the second of two new commitments announced by Pat Narduzzi on Christmas Eve. O’Brien is from Deerfield Beach, Florida, a place they’ve also gotten Aydin Henningham and Deslin Alexandre from.

O’Brien (6-foot-2, 190 pounds) was previously committed to Auburn but decided to de-commit following the firing of Gus Malzahn. This is another impressive recruiting win for Pitt as O’Brien also held offers from Alabama, Florida, Florida State, Georgia, LSU, Miami, Michigan, Ole Miss, Oregon, Penn State, Tennessee and West Virginia. Credit South Florida area recruiter Charlie Partridge for the recruitment of O’Brien.
This playmaking safety becomes the sixth defensive back in Pitt’s Class of 2021, joining Georgia cornerback Khalil Anderson, Florida cornerback Noah Biglow, Philadelphia safety Javon McIntyre, Central Valley safety Stephon Hall and Ohio cornerback Tamarion Crumpley.
Keep ’em coming!!!! H2P!
can anyone play linebacker?
LOL, so true!!! Maybe Narduzzi will finally get in this century and stop playing so many slow LBs and play more safeties & DBs!
WHY DO YOU SAY THIS GUY IS 4 STAR? neither 247 nor Rivals say 4 star, they both say 3 star. I mean I wish he was a 4, but where are you pulling the rating from?
Well if Alabama, Florida, and Georgia all offered his a scholarship, then he has to be of high 4-Star caliber.
ESPN has him ranked as a 4 star player.
