COVID-19 continues to impact the scheduling in college basketball.
Following positive COVID-19 results within the Florida State program, the Seminoles’ game on Wednesday against Syracuse has been postponed.
That postponement has led to the ACC moving the date of Pitt’s matchup against Syracuse up a month. Those two teams will play this Wednesday at the Carrier Dome. Originally, Pitt was scheduled to play at Syracuse on Saturday, February 13.
Tip-off Pitt vs. Syracuse will take place at 4:30 p.m. on Jan. 6 and the game will be televised on ACC Network.
This will be Pitt’s first game since Dec. 22, after having their last two games against Duke and Notre Dame postponed due to a COVID-19 spread in the Pitt program.
Pitt will enter the game with a record of 5-2 overall and 1-1 in the ACC. The Panthers will have to go on the road without their leading scorer Justin Champagnie, who’s sidelined with a knee injury.
