Pitt Will Visit Wake Forest on Saturday; Boston College Game Postponed

Published

Saturday’s Pitt basketball game at Boston College has been postponed due to a positive COVID-19 test and subsequent contact tracing in the Eagles’ program, the ACC announced on Wednesday.

Instead, Pitt will travel to Wake Forest, moving that game up from Feb. 7. The newly scheduled game will top off at 6 p.m. in Winston-Salem and be broadcast on ACC Network.

The postponement was the second in a row for the Eagles, who also had to call off Tuesday’s scheduled game at Virginia Tech.

Pitt now has five games that have been postponed this season and four of them have yet to be re-scheduled. The Panthers will host Notre Dame in a re-scheduled game on Jan. 30.

They also have outstanding road games at Duke and Georgia Tech and a home game against Florida State. The Panthers now have the weekends of Feb. 5-7 and Feb. 12-14 available to re-schedule games. As of right now, all four of Pitt’s needed opponents play on those weekends.

The Demon Deacons are 3-5 and 0-5 in ACC play, having lost five straight since the turn of the calendar year. They most recently lost to Virginia Tech, 64-60, on Sunday. Opponents are shooting 45.7% against Wake Forest this season, which is 269th in Division I.
