For the second time this season, a former Atlantic-10 player has decided to transfer to the Robert Morris Colonials.
Verbal Commits.com is reporting that former Saint Bonaventure forward Justin Winston (6-foot-8, 225 pounds) has decided to transfer to Robert Morris. Back on December 30, Winston announced that the would be transferring from Mark Schmidt’s program.
This is a major addition to the Andy Toole’s future lineup as Winston started 28 of 31 games for Saint Bonaventure last season as a true freshman. The New Jersey native went on to average 8.7 points, 3.4 rebounds per game and shot 43.8% from the field and 43% from 3-point range.
Coming out of Immaculate Conception High School in West Orange, New Jersey, Winston was a 3-star recruit in the Class of 2019 and held offers from Pitt, UConn, Minnesota, Seton Hall, Rutgers, Penn State, DePaul, St. Joe’s and UMass. He was the highest rated recruit under Schmidt’s tenure at Saint Bonaventure.
Winston will have three seasons of athletic eligibility starting in the 2021-22 season at Robert Morris.
Back in mid-December, the Robert Morris program also added former LaSalle transfer Brandon Stone, who’s was a graduate of Southmoreland High School. Like Winston, Stone (6-foot-11, 225) was also a 3-star recruit coming out of high school.
