The Panthers’ Charlie Partridge has been named a finalist for Football Scoop’s Defensive Line Coach of the Year award.
Partridge helped oversee a formidable Panthers pass rush that accounted for an FBS-high 46 sacks in 2020 and saw redshirt seniors Patrick Jones II and Rashad Weaver honored as All-Americans.
Partridge’s unit was successful even after 2019 All-American defensive tackle Jaylen Twyman opted out of the 2020 season in August.
Weaver, Jones, and Twyman are projected to be high picks in the 2021 NFL Draft.
Following the announcement, Partridge tweeted “Really grateful for this honor and for how hard the players worked to make me look smarter than I am! #H2P”
Partridge joined the Panthers in 2017 and serves as an assistant head coach as well. He previously coached for the Panthers from 2003-07 as a defensive line and linebackers coach.
