Dambrot: Duquesne Down to Six Players for Practice after 2nd COVID-19 Shutdown

Duquesne will keep practicing, even though the team’s game for Sunday against VCU has been postponed after a Dukes player tested positive for COVID-19.

But it won’t look like a usual practice session. Duquesne has just six players that are eligible to practice at the moment, which are players that have already tested positive for COVID-19 and whose windows of immunity have not expired.

The rest of the Duquesne team will have to work out on their own as all are considered close contacts from the team’s most recent positive test, which head coach Keith Dambrot believes stemmed from the team’s game against St. Joseph’s.

Duquesne's 2024 March Madness Tournament coverage is sponsored by Leon's Billiards & More, Moon Golf Club and Archie's on Carson! Their contributions have allowed us to cover the Dukes run in Omaha, Nebraska. We appreciate their support!

Dambrot said his displaced Dukes may be able to re-join the team on Friday, one day before Duquesne’s next scheduled game at George Mason.
