The Duquesne Dukes football program sure isn’t shying away from playing a tougher schedule.
Following the news of scheduling a 2021 non-conference game at TCU, it was announced on Tuesday that Duquesne will be taking a trip in the near future to Doak Campbell Stadium to take on the Florida State Seminoles.
Duquesne has scheduled a game against Florida State that will be played on August 27, 2022, which will be their opener for the 2022 season. This will be the first matchup between these two programs.
This game continues a recent trend by Duquesne head coach Jerry Schmitt and athletic director Dave Harper to challenge themselves in the non-conference portion of their schedule.
Aside from the these games against Florida State and TCU, the Dukes also have upcoming games against Ohio University (2021), Hawaii (2022) West Virginia (2023) and Toledo (2024).
The Dukes will open a four-game spring schedule on Sunday, March 7 when they host Sacred Heart at Arthur Rooney Field.
