The announcement includes that family and guests of the team will be permitted to attend, but due to the current regulations in the state of North Carolina there will be no additional fans in attendance.

The women’ basketball tournament is scheduled to be played March 3-7, while the men’s will be March 9-13. All men’s tournament games will be aired on either ACC Network, ESPN2 or ESPN. The women’s games will be broadcast on Regional Sports Networks up until the semifinals, where they will move to ACC Network. The women’s championship will be aired on ESPN2.

With a 5-7 ACC record, Pitt men’s basketball currently ranks 11th in the conference. The women’s team is currently 3-8, sitting at 12th in the conference. Since joining the conference in 2011, neither the men’s or women’s program has won the ACC tournament.
