Pitt Holds at No.16; Seven Wrestlers in National Polls; Pre-Seeds for ACC Tournament Released

No. 16 Pitt (NWCA Coaches Poll) places seven wrestlers in the national polls. The Panthers ended 2021 regular season at (3-4, 1-4 ACC) on the year. The squad is prepping for 2021 ACC Championships.

Additionally, pre-seeds and brackets have been released for the 2021 ACC Championships. Three Pitt wrestlers were awarded top seeds for Sunday’s 2021 ACC Wrestling Championship in Raleigh, N.C., the conference announced Tuesday afternoon.

Micky Phillippi (133 pounds), Jake Wentzel (165 pounds) and Nino Bonaccorsi (197 pounds) each were selected as No. 1 seeds after voting by the league’s coaches was taken into consideration.

Any idea why they made some switches at 149 and HWT? Also, I saw that Badget is out at 157, do you know why and why can’t they replace him?
