The Pitt Panthers football staff had already offered over 260 players in the Class of 2022 and that number has gone up this week, especially after offering a number of new prospects on Friday.
The offers that we’ve learned about from yesterday are interesting for a couple of different reasons: 1) many of them were from new wide receivers coach Brennan Marion 2) the offers went to players in states that Pitt doesn’t traditionally recruit.
Here is a recap of the players that we know received offers from Pitt on Friday:
*Jake Pope: 2022 4-star athlete (6-foot-1, 190) from Buford High School in Buford, Georgia. Pope has a long list of offers from programs like Alabama, Auburn, Georgia, Michigan, North Carolina, Notre Dame, Ohio State and USC. PSN hasn’t confirmed this yet but assuming Pope received the offer from Archie Collins.
*Hunter Moddon: 6-foot-1, 175 pound freshman wide receiver/cornerback from Houston, Texas. This was Moddon’s first D-1 offer and he received it from Brennan Marion.
*Dominique McKenzie: 2022 3-star wide receiver (6-foot, 165) from Pine View High School in Saint George, Utah. McKenzie holds offers from BYU, San Diego State and multiple Ivy League schools but this is his first Power Five offer. McKenzie received the offer from Brennan Marion. Aside from football, McKenzie is also a track star in high school
*Jurrion Dickey: 2023 4-star athlete Jurrion Dickey (6-foot-1, 210) from Valley Christian High School in San Jose, California. Dickey holds offers from Arizona, Arizona State, Arkansas, California and Oregon State. Dickey received the offer from Brennan Marion.
*Jordaan Bailey: 2022 3-star running back Hillsborough High School in Tampa, Florida. Bailey holds offers from Cincinnati, Bowling Green, Buffalo, Colorado State, East Carolina, Liberty, Toledo and South Florida but this is his first Power Five offer. Bailey received the offer from Cory Sanders.
*Zeke Berry: 2022 4-star cornerback (6-foot, 185 pounds) from De La Salle High School in Concord, California. Berry holds offers from Arizona State, California, Oregon, Utah, Arizona, Colorado, Oregon State and Washington State. Berry received the offer from Brennan Marion.
*Kayin Lee: 2023 cornerback (6-foot, 160 pounds) from Cedar Grove High School in Ellenwood, Georgia. Lee has early offers from Arkansas, Auburn, Florida State, Tennessee and received the news from Archie Collins.
“I was blessed to hear what he told me. Coach told me that he loved everything about me and that he knew me from my freshman season and stuck with me,” Lee told Pittsburgh Sports Now. “My biggest strengths are playing man and have very good eyes. Coach also said that he liked that I play with high IQ and that I’m very physically gifted. The thing that I know about Pitt is their defense. I love their defense, they play very fast and very physical. They have fun while on the field, too.”
*Tiger Bachmeier, 2023 wide receiver (6-foot-2, 180) from Murrieta Valley High School in Murrieta, California. Bachmeier holds offers from Arizona State, Boise State and received the news from Brennan Marion.
So who’s recruiting the stud qb to throw to these guys ,we are really lacking in qb recruiting, none of the guys behind Pickett are that good
