The 2021 PIAA wrestling postseason is unlike any other in recent memory. Not only was the entire postseason condensed, but it also requires two additional qualifying tournaments for a wrestler to punch their ticket to Hershey, including Subsection tournaments and Super Regional tournaments. Similarly, the participant field at the Giant Center in Hershey, Pennsylvania, will be smaller as well in 2021, with those adjustments were put in to help mitigate the spread of COVID-19.
On Saturday, March 6 the final tournaments on the road to Hershey will take place: the East Super Regional and the West Super Regional in both Class-2A and Class-3A.
Tournament Locations
2021 East Class-2A Super Regional — at Pottsville HS
2021 East Class-3A Super Regional — at Quakertown HS
2021 West Class-2A Super Regional — at Kovalchick Center (IUP)
2021 West Class-3A Super Regional — at Altoona HS

Pennsylvania Governor Tom Wolf recently announced a relaxation of the state’s gathering restrictions as part of its overall COVID-19 pandemic mitigation strategy, a change that will have a significant impact on sporting venues in the commonwealth, thus limited fans can take in the action in person.
However, if you cannot attend the events in person, there will still be streaming options for all four tournaments on FloWrestling.
Once again, the structure of this postseason and the corresponding brackets has drawn complaints from those in the high school wrestling community in the Keystone State.
Whether the system is fair or not, there are sure to be some phenomenal individual matchups across the state this weekend.
