The Buford High School football team in Buford, Georgia is loaded with Power Five players, many of which are being actively recruited by Brennan Marion, Archie Collins and the Pitt coaching staff.

For the Class of 2022, Pitt has extended offers Buford players 3-star running back Victor Venn, 3-star cornerback Ryland Gandy, 3-star safety Malik Spencer, 3-star athlete Jake Pope and 3-star wide receiver Isaiah Bond.

Pitt is in the mix for a few of these players as Gandy plans on making an official visit to Pitt and Venn has the Panthers as one of his final five schools. The speedy back plans on making his college decision tomorrow afternoon.

The other encouraging news for Pitt is that earlier this week, Bond announced a Top Five and it included Pat Narduzzi’s program. The other four teams in contention for this dynamic athlete are Alabama, Auburn, Miami Fla and Wisconsin.

Pittsburgh Sports Now caught up yesterday morning with Bond to ask him about the developments in his recruitment and what impressed him about Pitt to land them in this exclusive group.

“Picking my top five schools right now out of so many great offers was hard,” said Bond. “I will be honest, my relationship with Coach Marion played a big part in me picking Pitt as a finalist. I hear from Coach Marion almost every day. He’s very positive and upbeat and tells me to “go ahead and commit.” He’s just a real nice person overall. Coach Narduzzi has also reached out to me too.”

“I want to attend a college that has good onsite student population and a school that offers a lot of majors and has a good football program. My top five are my favorites right now. I just want to go to a college that has both good academics and athletics. Also, a college that has a big fan base and a good reputation.”

Since so many players are scheduling official visits, I asked Bond if he’s discussed this and considering it with Pitt?

“Yes, he’s invited me to come up on an official visit in June,” said Bond. “I will talk to my mom and dad about which weekend will work. I definitely want to visit schools even if it an unofficial visit before I commit.”

Bond is someone that has the athletic ability to play either wide receiver or cornerback in college but Pitt views him as a wide receiver because of his game-changing speed.

This article confused me. If he is committing tomorrow how can the visits come before committing or am I reading this wrong?
