Pitt Misses Again on Indiana’s Khristian Lander as Guard Opts to Return to Hoosiers

On Monday, Pitt target and Khristian Lander decided it was in his best interest to return to the Hoosiers and play for new coach Mike Woodson at Indiana.

After recruiting Lander in high school just a year ago, Jeff Capel and his staff once again went after the 6-foot-2 guard once he entered his name into the transfer portal recently.

Lander, who reclassified in high school in order to play in college early, was a 5-star recruit just a year ago as a senior. However, he struggled to carve out much of a role in his first year in Bloomington, as this season he played in 26 games and averaged just 10.2 minutes and 2.1 points per game.

While the Panthers miss again on another highly-coveted transfer, the staff will look to keep pursuing guards both in the portal and in the class of 2021 to fulfill their needs.

How about just writing an article when Capel actually lands somebody? Enjoy the time off while we wait for that to happen…
