Pitt Football Changes Date For 2021 Blue-Gold Spring Game

Published

on

Because of the pause in spring football practices due to COVID-19 related protocols, Pitt has re-scheduled their Blue-Gold Spring Game.

The game will now be played on Saturday, April 24 at Heinz Field instead of the originally scheduled date of April 17. This change in schedule will allow Pitt to get in the 15 permitted spring practices leading up to the spring game.

“Postponing the spring game by a week was in the best interest of our players health and safety,” said Pat Narduzzi. “We can maximize our practice opportunities by not overloading their personal and academic schedules.”

The Pitt Athletic department is reminding everyone that a limited number of fans will be permitted to attend the game and that those details and Game Day protocols will be announced in the near future. Admission for this annual event will be free.

The Blue-Gold Spring Game will kickoff at 1 PM. At this point, no determination has been made as to whether the game will be televised.

The Pitt Panthers will open up the 2021 season on September 4 at Heinz Field when they host UMass.
