On Tuesday morning Pitt announced that renovations to the Petersen Events Center were underway once again.

Improvements include 1,608 padded club seats, 1,100 new court-level seats, upgrades to the Platinum Clubs, and a new young alumni space.

Padded club seats have been added in sections 107-109 as well as 120-122. Those who already hold club seating will receive new cushioned seats with cup holders and access to the Campus View Club, which includes upscale dining options, bars, and restrooms.

The open concourse below the video boards on either end will be made into a club space as well. Construction will get started sometime in May and plans for the new space and its pricing will be released in the summer.

“We continue to focus on enhancing our guest experiences through innovative amenities and spaces for our fans,” said Petersen Events Center General Manager Taylor Traversari in a press release. “We are thrilled with the result of the upgrades, which will be very noticeable as we welcome fans back into the Petersen Events Center.”

Next basketball season, Pitt is expected to host ACC opponents Boston College, Duke, Syracuse, Virginia, Louisville, Virginia Tech, Georgia Tech, Miami, NC State, and Notre Dame. The Panthers are also scheduled to host a Big Ten opponent in the ACC/Big Ten Challenge.

Season tickets for Pitt basketball are now on sale as of Tuesday, May 4 at 10 A.M. and can be purchased at the Panthers ticket office.
