It’s not been a rough last 24 hours for the Pitt basketball program as they miss out on a major recruit and then lose their best player.
Following the news of 5-star center Efton Reid on Sunday, forward Justin Champagnie announced that he’s decided to sign with an agent and will keep his name in the 2021 NBA Draft.
Champagnie had a breakout sophomore season as he earned All-American recognition and became Pitt’s First Team All-ACC selection after leading Pitt in scoring (18 points) and rebound (11.1).
The question now is whether Champagnie’s game and size (6’6″, 200) will translate to the NBA and if he will get drafted. Champagnie will partcipate in the NBA G-League Elite Camp June 19-21 and the NBA Draft Combine (June 21-27), and can also participate in private workouts with NBA teams.
Our PSN Pol Question is, where do you think Champagnie will get drafted, if at all?

Tough situation for Champagnie. Will probably not have another season like this last one so needs to go. However if the experts are saying he I’d going to go undrafted he’s making a mistake. No guaranteed money.
Best of luck Justin! Whether he plays in the NBA, G-League or overseas, I am sure he will play. Had he stayed another year, he’d be the defensive focus of every team and would have a hard time duplicating what he did this year. That was his problem after Xavier and Toney left. Without Reid to take some of that pressure off him, he would be double teamed every time he touched the ball
Not a smart decision, but wish him the best. He’ll likely go undrafted, but some team will pick him up.
