On Monday, a very intriguing center re-entered the transfer portal, just a few weeks after committing to Virginia Tech.
That prospect is Michael Durr, a 7-foot, 250-pound big man who has spent the entirety of his three-year college career playing for USF.
Durr has two seasons of eligibility left and had a very solid career at South Florida, starting 85 of his 87 career games. The Atlanta native averaged 8.8 points and 7.9 rebounds per game this season, while shooting 41% from the field and 79% from the free-throw line.
Once he re-opened his recruitment on Monday, Durr told Pittsburgh Sports Now that he has been contacted by Pitt.
A powerful force on the inside, Durr has very been durable and for the most part has been healthy for every season of his college career. And as just about everyone knows by now, Pitt is looking for a big time center to come in and hold down the five spot.
