Cleary joins Pitt after being with Ohio State as a starter for the last two seasons. Cleary is a former two-time Florida state champion and while wrestling at 157 pounds for the Buckeyes, picked up 55 wins against 25 losses in his career.

Curry is a graduate of North Hills High School and comes to Pitt after wrestling at American University, where he enjoyed a stellar career. In four seasons, Curry totaled 77 wins as a four-year starter and qualified for the NCAA Championships in four straight seasons at 125 pounds.

Both Curry and Cleary are taking advantage of the NCAA offering an extra year of athletic eligibility to all athletes.

With these additions, plus the return of NCAA finalists Nino Bonaccorsi, Jake Wentzel, Micky Phillippi, Gregg Harvey and a healthy Cole Matthews, Pitt will have one of the deepest and most talented teams in the country.

Great additions. Just having them in the room with the younger guys would be worth it. I’m looking forward to next season and praying everyone stays healthy. I would love to see Pitt make a run and get in the top 5
