After being selected in the seventh round (230th overall) of the 2021 NFL Draft by the Las Vegas Raiders, former Pitt center Jimmy Morrissey made the beginning of his NFL career official by signing his rookie deal. The Raiders announced the signing Monday afternoon via Twitter.
According to Spotrac, Morrissey’s deal, which will be for four years as all rookie deals are, is estimated to be worth just under $3.6 million, with a signing bonus of $114,460.
Morrissey made 47 career starts at Pitt and was a captain for the Panthers in 2019 and 2020. He was also a three time All-ACC selection, with a third-team nod in 2018, and first-team selection in both 2019 and 2020. Morrissey also won the Burlsworth Award in 2020, which is given each year to the best college football player who started their college career as a walk-on.
