On Sunday evening, Pitt extended an offer to an enticing prospect in the class of 2022 by the name of Cam Whitmore.
Whitmore is a 6-foot-6 small forward from Odenton, Maryland, who plays his high school ball for Archibishop Spalding High School. Ranked as the No. 109 player in the nation by 247Sports’ Composite Rankings, Whitmore is a four-star prospect and holds plenty of high-major offers, including Illinois, Creighton, Florida, Maryland, Penn State, and more.
He averaged 22 points and 11.7 rebounds per game in his junior season, earning Baltimore Catholic League Player of the Year honors at the end of the season. He is one of the most explosive players in the class and has fantastic driving ability and a consistent outside shooting stroke. Whitmore’s junior season highlight tape (link below) is filled with emphatic blocks, thunderous alley-oop finishes, and smooth step-backs.
With the offer, he instantly becomes one to keep an eye on for Pitt’s 2022 recruiting class.
Pitt/Capel make offers but they never get these players. Duquesne out recruited them for a freshman guard just recently.
