As the live period for college sports recruiting started up today, Pitt hosted a few visits, including top local target Rodney Gallagher.
“It was great,” Gallagher told Pittsburgh Sports Now about the visit. “I learned a lot of new stuff about the program and all about the facilities. I had a great time. They talked to me about everything. We talked about the facilities, the team, what I could do on the team, and all that type of different stuff. It was basically everything. My sister and my dad went with too. They enjoyed it just as much as I did.”
Gallagher said he was with the entire staff on the visit, and they toured the basketball facilities as well as the rest of the campus.
“I got to see where the majority of my classes will be,” he continued. “The school facilities are real nice. But I can’t even tell you my favorite part of the visit, I liked the entire trip really.”
Right after this visit, Gallagher took off on his way to Pitt’s football facilities for a visit with Head Coach Pat Narduzzi. Narduzzi and Capel have both been working to recruit Gallagher for their respective programs since day one, and Gallagher has developed solid relationships with both so far.
“My relationship with Coach Capel is getting better and better every time we talk,” he added. “He’s a great guy and we had a great time. He wants to be really involved and we are just building our relationship.”
Gallagher has another visit planned to West Virginia on June 12.
