On June 9, guard Christian Winborne will be visiting Pitt for the first time, as Jeff Capel and staff have invited him on an unofficial visit.

The trip to Pitt will be Winborne’s second visit of the summer after a trip to Penn on June 3-5, and he will be heading up to Pittsburgh with both of his parents.

“I am just looking forward to getting a grasp on the campus,” Winborne told Pittsburgh Sports Now. “I am looking forward to being able to meet the coaches in person, and just looking around, experiencing new things.”

Winborne does not currently hold an offer from Pitt, but has been recruited by the Panthers for months now.

“Our relationship is definitely growing,” he said. “We’ve been talking to each other at least once a week now. The relationship has been steadily growing.”

The 6-foot-2, 175-pound guard is from Baltimore, Maryland, and plays his high school ball for Gilman High School. Last year, he averaged 16.8 points, five assists, and four rebounds per game in his junior season. He is ranked as the No. 203 player in the nation and a three-star prospect according to 247 Sports’ Composite Rankings.

Winborne holds offers from Kansas State, LSU, and Virginia Tech, and more, and is also being recruited by Pitt, Creighton, and Wake Forest, among others.
