Perry 4-Star Tyreese Fearbry Blown Away By Pitt Visit

Perry 4-star defensive end Tyreese Fearbry has been Pitt’s top target for their Class of 2022 and following his official visit, they are in the drivers seat to land him.

While Fearbry is familiar with the Panthers program since he’s a hometown product, he tells Pittsburgh Sports Now that he realized something this weekend that sure seems to improve Pitt’s chances of keeping this elite talent in his hometown.

“Pitt just gave me a whole new vision about the way I look at them now,” said Fearbry. “It’s more to them than just being the hometown college. They have so much more to them than that. Just to be able to right after practice and literally be able to go over to the bench and sit there and watch the Steelers practice. They’re the only college program in the country that you’re able to have the opportunity to watch NFL players. With that, you’re able to see what to do and what it takes to perform at the highest level. Just to be able to see that was truly amazing .”

”Also, getting your see the on-campus living was amazing. It’s not like regular apartments or dorms. It has everything you need, like a house. Plus, it’s also like a mini town because everything is around you. They have everything you need and you don’t need to leave Oakland.”

The entire Pitt staff has let Fearbry know many times in the past how much they want him to become part of their program. Prior to leaving on Saturday, Narduzzi left Fearbry with another message.

”We had a one-on-one before I left and Coach Narduzzi told me I’m his number one guy because I’m a hometown kid and he doesn’t want to have recruit some kid (with similar talent) across the nation, ” said Fearbry. “He wants to keep someone like me home. It’s not everyday you hear a coach tell you that. When he told me that, I felt very needed and felt different.”

It sure sounds like Pitt has a good chance of adding another 4-star Western Pennsylvania defensive lineman to their program (Dayon Hayes, Elliot Donald, Nahki Johnson). However, Fearbry isn’t ready to make a final decision yet.

”I’m going to take four officials this month so my recruiting will probably wrap up and I’ll make a decision in mid-July.”
