Pitt 2021 All 105: DT Tyler Bentley

Published

on

Pitt defensive end Tyler Bentley.

All 105 is a Pittsburgh Sports Now series profiling each of the 105 members of Pitt’s 2021 training camp roster.

92 • Tyler Bentley, redshirt junior defensive tackle

Last year: Made three starts in nine games played as one of Pitt’s primary rotational defensive tackles.

Stats: Racked up 11 tackles and two tackles for loss in 2020 and seven tackles and two tackles for a loss in 13 games as a redshirt freshman in 2019.

Camp outlook: Bentley recorded a tackle, a pass breakup, and a quarterback hit in this year’s Blue-Gold game, and appears primed to continue to build his role in the defense in 2021, even with the Panthers returning their top six options at defensive tackle.

Projected role: His experience should earn him significant playing time, even if it is as the number three or four option at defensive tackle.

Accolades, Highlights:

Two-time first team All-Greater Miami Conference selection in high school. Listed the No. 20 overall prospect in Ohio by ESPN.
