The big story Tuesday night was of PSN’s George Michalowski that the visit of 2022 4-star guard Jalen Hood Schifino’s had been canceled by Pitt.
At one time, Hood-Schifino was committed to Jeff Capel’s program but a year ago, he changed his mind and de-committed in order to allow himself to go through the full experience of college recruiting. Although he planned on making other visits, this talented guard was reportedly still very high on Pitt.
This story received more legs when Hood-Schifino’s uncle, Drew, took to Twitter and made this statement.
According to Hood Schifino’s mother, the move by Pitt to cancel the visit is because the Panthers will be getting a commitment soon from a player at the same position as Hood-Schifino.
Our PSN Poll Question for you is ‘Do you have a problem with Pitt canceling the visit of this talented player?

Capel’s recruiting has been underwhelming at best, but I love this move. If Jalen really wanted to be a Panther, he would be committed. Just like Duzz handles players in the transfer portal, you’re either in or you’re out. If you have one foot out…you really have both feet out. Don’t let the door hit you on the way out…
This really gives a glimpse into how complicated the recruiting game can be. It is a ugly move on the surface but looking beyond that this is absolutely the right move. Coach Capel needs players that are “all in.” I absolutely agree and wish the Jalen all the best and then move on with our PITT commits.
The Name Efton, jumps out here. Take your $$$ show somewhere else kid. Don’t want your baby prima donna BS. Sounds like his uncle is a mama bear. This is the right thing to do from lessons learned.
it’s only a big deal to his family … “.he is really high on Pitt”, “Pitt is #1 on his list” … c’mon … no one knows that for sure and looking at his offers, Pitt seems like a bit of a reach. If he was coming to Pitt, he wouldn’t have backed out earlier. Who knows if Capel made the right decision or not .. give him the benefit of the doubt and move on.
Capel will be getting commitment #1 on a team without a lot of depth in a transfer portal world. He kept the lines of communication open which is why the visit was scheduled. The kid committed early and probably wanted to test other waters just to be sure. They should have signed both, a lot of recruiting power with two household names. Bad move, host the kid on the visit you never know what can happen with decommitments
