On Friday, four-star guard Judah Mintz committed to Pitt, over Penn State, Georgetown, and others.

Mintz, a native of Washington D.C., is a 6-foot-4 guard who is ranked as the No. 83 player in the class of 2022 according to the 247 Sports Top247 rankings. According to Rivals, he is the No. 103 player in the country and the No. 20 shooting guard prospect.

The rising senior guard took an official visit to Pitt from June 4-6, and enjoyed his time meeting the staff and seeing the campus.

“Genuine,” was the word Mintz used to describe head coach Jeff Capel after meeting him in person for the first time. “I think genuine would be a good word for him. He’s pretty nice. He got along with my family just fine. They liked him, he liked them, so, it was a really good experience meeting him and spending some time with him.”

With the commitment, Mintz becomes the first player to pledge to the Panthers in the 2022 class, as well as Capel’s fourth top-100 commitment in his time at Pitt.

This is a pleasant pick-up. I hope they can get him on campus. When will NLI’s be signed?
