All 105 is a Pittsburgh Sports Now series profiling each of the 105 members of Pitt’s 2021 training camp roster.
57 • Bam Brima, redshirt sophomore defensive end
Last year: Played in three games in his first year of action at Pitt.
Stats: Recorded a tackle in Week 1 against Austin Peay.
Camp outlook: The talent on the Panthers’ defensive line has thinned out with the graduation of Patrick Jones II and Rashad Weaver, but Brima is still a ways from the front of the pack. He was held off the stat sheet in the Blue-Gold game after being the sixth defensive end selected, and that was without the participation of senior projected starter Deslin Alexandre.
Projected role: After Alexandre, Habakkuk Baldonado and John Morgan, none of Pitt’s defensive ends have much experience. Brima could be fourth end in rotation, but will have to beat out talented youngsters Dayon Hayes and Nahki Johnson and others with little experience like Emmanuel Belgrave and Nate Temple.
Accolades, Highlights: Played in the Big 33 Game, was a member of the Williamsport Sun-Gazette All-Star Team, and was rated the No. 17 prospect in Pennsylvania by ESPN after his senior year at Loyalsock High School in 2018.
