Christian Fermin has seen enough to close down his recruitment.
The 6-foot-10, 225-pound power forward from Pocono Summit, Pennsylvania announced on Thursday that he will make his college decision on July 3. The athletic big man will make a decision between Pitt, Temple, Penn State, Saint Joseph’s and VCU. Fermin is ranked as the No. 145 overall prospect in the nation, as well as the No. 17 power forward, according to Rivals.
It’s interesting that Fermin is deciding to make a decision just two days after receiving an offer from Pitt. The Panthers staff has been recruiting Fermin since March but just decided to formally extend him the offer this week.
After getting the news from Jeff Capel, this is what Fermin had to say to Pittsburgh Sports Now’s George Michalowski.
“I was excited, it is an ACC offer, so that is a big deal. I definitely appreciated it. It was definitely something I was waiting on. I expected it sooner but I feel like it came at a good time,” said Fermin. “I definitely could see myself playing for Pitt,” he said. “But, at the same time, all of my options are open, I don’t want to say that I can see myself at any one place, but, that is definitely a system I can see myself playing in.”
At this time, Pitt is looking to add two more players to their Class of 2022, a big man and a wing. A week ago, four-star guard Judah Mintz was the first to join their recruiting class when he gave Capel a commitment.
