Pitt 2021 All 105: TE Jake Cortes

All 105 is a Pittsburgh Sports Now series profiling each of the 105 members of Pitt’s 2021 training camp roster.

87 • Jake Cortes, redshirt junior tight end

Last year: Did not appear in any games for the second straight season after walking on and redshirting as a freshman in 2018.

Stats: Threw for 1,782 yards and 17 touchdowns playing quarterback for Peters Township in his senior year of high school.

Camp outlook: Cortes is part of a very large group at tight end, including guys like Lucas Krull, Kyi Wright, and Grant Carrigan.

Projected role: Cortes will most likely serve toward the bottom of the depth chart with little chance of playing time.

Accolades, Highlights: Led Peters to their best record in 14 years in 2017 and was a two-time Peters Township Offensive Most Valuable Player.

The rest of the 105:

Sandy Schall, Coldwell Banker
