Pitt Offers Highly-Touted DMV Point Guard Jacoi Hutchinson

On Monday, Jeff Capel and his staff extended an offer to another one of the top 2023 players in the DMV area, Jacoi Hutchinson.

Hutchinson is a 6-foot-2 point guard who plays for the prestigious basketball program at DeMatha Catholic High School in Hyattsville, Maryland. In addition to Pitt, Hutchinson also holds offers from Virginia Tech, Maryland, LSU, George Mason, Penn State, and a few other schools. 

The talented rising junior has become a hot name on recruiting boards across the country early in his high school career, and he recently heard from Pitt for the first time on June 15, when college coaches could first speak directly to prospects in the class.

With this offer, Hutchinson immediately becomes one of the highest-ranked prospects on Pitt’s radar. He is ranked as the No. 52 player in the 2023 class, and the No. 3 player in the state of Maryland, both according to 247Sports.
