Dominique and Marcus McKenzie have been recruited hard by Brennan Marion and Pitt since receiving an offer back in March.
The twin brothers from Saint George, Utah made their official visits to Pitt during the first week of June and are getting ready to announce their decisions.
Dominique tells Pittsburgh Sports Now that both him and Marcus will announce their college decision on August 11th. The finalists for Dominique McKenzie are Pitt, Oregon and Virginia. Both are rated as 3-star recruits, with Pitt recruiting Dominque as a wide receiver and Marcus as a cornerback.
Like with current commit 3-star athlete Che Nwabuko, Pitt would love to add the element of speed that the McKenzie brothers possess to their program. Both as record-breaking and state champion track runners at Pine View High School in Utah.
Following their official visits to Pittsburgh, both brothers had high praise for Pitt and the city of Pittsburgh.
“I came with no expectations and was blown away, by the staff, the facilities and the culture,” Dominique McKenzie told Pittsburgh Sports Now. “The feel was real. They were organized and have a plan to develop the whole person. The city was way better than I would have thought. It was tops for me. It didn’t disappoint at all. I will take other planned visits just to stick to my plan of taking all of my visits, but the bar is really high.”
Pitt currently has received 11 commitments, not counting the one they received on Friday.
