Pitt 2021 All 105: DT David Green

Published

on

All 105 is a Pittsburgh Sports Now series profiling each of the 105 members of Pitt’s 2021 training camp roster.

2 • David Green, redshirt junior defensive tackle

Last year: Made five starts in nine games in his first season as a consistent starter upfront.

Stats: Recorded 12 tackles, two tackles for loss and 1.5 sacks in those nine games.

Camp outlook: Jaylen Twyman is heading to the NFL after opting out of last season, so Pitt will once again send out a fairly young core of interior defensive linemen this season, despite the return of senior Keyshon Camp.

Projected role: Green, a Central Catholic graduate, was in the rotation of starters last season with Camp, Danielson and Kancey, however, he will likely assume more of a backup role to start the year.

Accolades, Highlights: PIAA state champion and two-time WPIAL champion with Central Catholic. Green was named Pennsylvania Football Writers All-Class 6A and was ranked as the number 23 prospect in Pennsylvania coming out of high school in 2018.
