All 105 is a Pittsburgh Sports Now series profiling each of the 105 members of Pitt’s 2021 training camp roster.
27 • Buddy Mack III, sophomore defensive back
Last Year: Mack played in all 11 games on special teams in 2020, also filling in at safety.
Stats: Mack made seven tackles as a true freshman.
Camp outlook: The fact that Mack played in every game in his first college season speaks well for his role with the team moving forward. It may not be this season, but he’s a name to watch.
Projected role: With M.J. Devonshire starting and other safeties with starting experience like Brandon Hill and Erick Hallett II ahead of him, Mack will play on special teams and as a fill-in in 2021.
Accolades, highlights: Mack was one of ESPN’s top 30 high school prospects in the state of South Carolina during his senior season.

Erick Hallett is terrible. If he’s playing its a disaster for Pitt. Same with Petrician. Those players are slow with poor instincts.
