All 105 is a Pittsburgh Sports Now series profiling each of the 105 members of Pitt’s 2021 training camp roster.
84 • Jake McConnachie, redshirt freshman wide receiver
Last Year: McConnachie joined the Panthers as a walk-on in 2020 and took a redshirt year.
Stats: McConnachie hasn’t logged a game or recorded a catch in his collegiate career, though he caught 46 passes for 1,012 yards in 2019 as a senior in high school.
Camp outlook: Like any walk-on, the onus is on McConnachie to prove his place on the team. A strong summer camp could give him a chance for special teams action this season.
Projected role: McConnachie will serve as a backup in 2021, with the potential for playing time on special teams or in reserve.
Accolades, highlights: The Panthers offered McConnachie as a preferred walk-on, as did West Virginia and Rutgers. He’s lanky and could use some bulking up, but his combination of height (and his time in high school as a track and field athlete) give him potential in the long run.
