The lack of a consistent running game was one big thing last season that kept Pitt from having a complete offense, as they were forced to rely too much on the arm of quarterback Kenny Pickett.
The solution to that problem in 2021 could be Izzy Abanikanda. The New York native showed flashes in 2020 but struggled with blocking assignments and suffered various injuries throughout the season that held him back.
Two weeks into camp, Abanikanda has been the talk of Pitt camp as he’s added good weight to go along with his blazing speed.
Earlier this week, Abanikanda spoke to the local media about his expectations for the Pitt 2021 season.
