On Tuesday, four-star small forward Chisom Okpara announced his top six schools list, which included Pitt and Penn State, among others.
Okpara is a 6-foot-8, 225-pound forward with lots of strength and skill to his game. The Bronxville, New York native has bounced around multiple schools in recent years but is now attending La Lumiere, which is one of the best basketball schools in the nation year in and year out.
Pitt has been interested in Okpara for over a year now, with Assistant Coach Tim O’Toole and Head Coach Jeff Capel leading the way in his recruitment. Okpara plays his AAU ball for NY Rens, and has played alongside O’Toole’s son on that club for a while.
Okpara is ranked as the No. 87 prospect in the nation according to the 247 Sports Composite Rankings. While the site lists him as a power forward, Okpara plays more of a wing/3 position than a four, fitting Pitt’s needs perfectly.
In addition to Okpara, wing Alphonzo Billups already has Pitt on his top schools list. Another 2022 wing, Ryan Dunn, is announcing his list of top eight schools on Wednesday, and is still being actively recruited by Pitt.
Another 4 star prospect taking a picture with Capel to extend his employment for one more year. We do not even know if he coach if he recruited 4-star players.Let me retract that we know he cannot coach watch the 2021 team’s defense. Also, watch Hugley dominant top-level high school division players in Ohio. When He gets him at Pitt, screws up the kid by not supervising him then sit on him like Dixon did on Adams. Also although he was young a good coach would have givenJefferes alot of playing time and pumped him up every time he could.
Capel stinks. Terrible hire.
Another offer by Capel and this kid will choose NC State by sometime next week.
