25 • Kaymar Mimes, redshirt junior tight end
Last Year: Mimes made the first reception of his college career against Austin Peay while also seeing time on special teams.
Stats: Mimes is 6-foot-5 and 255 pounds. He’s made six total tackles and has one catch for four yards in three years with the Panthers.
Camp outlook: Mimes has endured several position changes throughout his Panthers career: he played defensive end in high school before converting to tight end in his first year at Pitt in 2018. The 2019 season saw him switch back to defensive end before playing as a tight end once again in 2020. Mimes has seen his playing time increase through each of his seasons with the Panthers, and consecutive years at the same position gives him a chance to settle in.
Projected role: Mimes will see time on special teams and as a reserve tight end once again in 2021.
Accolades, highlights: 247Sports ranked Mimes as the No. 26 prospect in the state of New Jersey in 2018. He’s a versatile athlete, as evidenced by his position changes.
