Pitt Basketball Recruiting

On Friday, Rivals.com updated its Rivals150 rankings, which included plenty of prospects to keep an eye on for Pitt fans.

Since the first day of the contact period for 2023 prospects, Pitt has hosted several recruits on campus, and plans to host many more over the next year.

To take a look at the entire list, check out the link below where Rob Cassidy, Jamie Shaw, and all of the guys at Rivals list out their top 150 players in the class.

4. Kwame Evans

  • A 6-foot-9 forward, Evans will be a very tough recruit to land for Pitt, considering he is garnering Pro interest and blue bloods are salivating over his potential at No. 4 in the nation.

10. GG. Jackson

  • 6-foot-9 power forward who has been receiving interest from Pitt since summer of 2020. South Carolina native who lots of people think will stay in-state.

15. Simeon Wilcher

  • 6-foot-5 point guard out of Roselle Catholic in New Jersey. Turned down a six-figure deal from the OTE to stay in school.

17. London Johnson

  • 6-foot-3 point guard, has Pitt connections, but has visited 6+ schools already and not Pitt.

44. Jahnathan Lamothe

47. Brandon White

  • 6-foot-10 center from NC, reclassified from ’22 this past year. Picked up Pitt offer in March ’21, steadily adding more offers still

69. Deshawn Harris-Smith

  • 6-foot-4 shooting guard out of Virginia. Heard from lots of schools since June, visited Georgetown this summer.

72. Shawn Simmons

  • 6-foot-6 Team Durant wing. Plays alongside several Pitt targets on that team. Philly-area product.

79. Marlon Barnes

101. Jacoi Hutchinson

  • 6-foot-2, DMV guard. Maryland, LSU, others also involved here with Pitt

109. Jalen Hooks

  • 6-foot-7 small forward out of Crispus Attucks in Indianapolis (Nike Sibande’s HS). Visited Pitt late in June, received offer while he was there.

110. Scotty Middleton

  • 6-foot-5 wing, has bounced around a few schools so far but is currently at Sunrise Christian, who always has a solid hoops program. Tim O’Toole reached out to him as soon as he could back in June.

132. Amani Hansberry

  • 6-foot-7, 215-pound power forward who was formerly in the top 20. Hansberry’s ranking has tanked all the way down to 132 despite picking up ACC, Big Ten, and Big East offers this summer

133. Jaylen Curry

  • 6-foot North Carolina point guard, holds offers from Fla St., Texas A&M, and more.

thanks for organizing a list of players Capel won’t sign. . . just demonstrates the smoke and mirrors game this guy plays. What’s the over and under that he signs one of these guys?
