You can add another big name to the list of WPIAL players that will be at Heinz Field on Saturday.
Pittsburgh Sports Now has learned that Belle Vernon 2024 4-star athlete Quinton Martin will watch as the Pitt Panthers open their 2021 regular season against UMass.
Martin becomes the 4th highly ranked player that will be making an unofficial visit, joining 2022 Perry 4-star defensive end Tyreese Fearbry, 2023 Laurel Highlands 4-star wide receiver Rodney Gallagher and 2023 Brashear 4-star linebacker Ta’Mere Robinson.
Martin (6’3″, 180) is currently the highest ranked player from the WPIAL as 247 Sports has him ranked as the No. 40 overall player in the Class of 2024. Fearbry is ranked No. 196, Gallagher is ranked No. 64 and Robinson is No. 148.
Pat Narduzzi and Pitt were the first program to offer Martin a scholarship back in his freshman season and since then, he’s received ones from Penn State, West Virginia, Virginia Tech, Maryland and Rutgers.
